As one of the oldest community banks in New Mexico, the First American Bank has proudly served their customers since 1903. They were chartered in Artesia, where the corporate headquarters remains today.

In the same office that houses the original painting of Horse Trade, there is a painting by Henriette Wyeth Hurd entitled All That’s Left of Peter, a still life she painted while her husband was stationed overseas during World War II.

First American Bank has other art by well-known artists throughout the building. There is a brochure available that offers detailed information about the art belonging to the bank. First American welcomes visitors who would like to enjoy their art.
